Since this site is devoted to all multisport events, I felt the need to cover this one. For those of you that have seen the youtube video already, here is the explanation of the event.
If you have no idea what I am talking about then allow me to introduce you to the Red Bull Neptune Steps.
The swim-climb format of the Red Bull Neptune Steps takes place in an icy cold canal in Glasgow, Scottland.
The course takes athletes through 420 total meters of swimming which are broken up into 8 smaller stages.
In between each swim stage are 7 canal lock gates that the athletes will climb over using various ropes and nets.
These 7 climbs total 18 meters of vertical climb.
Over 600 athletes line up on the Forth & Clyde Canal each year to swim and climb through this multi-stage course.
