10 Gifts for Triathletes in 2019

Top 10 Gifts for Triathletes

Have someone in your life that is a little obsessed with triathlons? Do they live breathe and sleep in 3 sports? Welcome to the club!

Finding gifts for triathletes can be extremely hard. They tend to already spend a good deal of money on the sport and already have the gear they need on race day.

That’s why we decided that this holiday season we would put together our top 10 gift ideas for triathletes. I guarantee you that the triathlete in your life doesn’t have every item on this list.

1. Stryd Power Meter for Running

Stryd Power Meter for Running

Coming in first on the list is the Stryd Power Meter for Running. Most triathletes already spend a great deal of time focusing on the metrics from their bike’s power meter. They carefully watch how many watts they are putting out as a measure of cycling efficiency.

But they usually disregard running efficiency. That’s where the Stryd Power Meter comes in. Just strap it to the laces on your running shoes and start tracking how efficient you are running.

The stats that this little thing gives you tends to surprise even the most “seasoned” triathletes.

Price: $199

2. New Wave Swim Buoy

New Wave Swim Buoy

If you are a triathlete who ever does open water swimming by themselves then you need one of these. The New Wave Swim Buoy straps to your body and floats behind you to alert any boats of your presence.

It isn’t the most exciting or fancy gift on the planet but it may save your life so it needed to be on the list!

Price: $29.95

3. ISM Saddle

PN3.0 Blue

Short of a new bike entirely nothing will brighten your triathlete’s day by opening up a brand new ISM saddle. These saddles are the preferred choice by almost every pro triathlete out there – and for good reason.

The split nose design of ISM’s saddles allow maximum comfort on those long rides and races without sacrificing any speed.

A little pricier than some of the other gifts on this list, the ISM is a great option for that “big” gift.

PRICE: $199.99

4. The Triathlete’s Training Bible

Triathlete's Training Bible

Find out if the triathlete in your life has this book and if they don’t then you need to buy it. It has been read by every professional and amateur alike.

Written by one of (if not the most) respected triathlon coaches in the game, it goes over everything from planning a season, determining workouts for the week and getting ready on race day.

PRICE: $20

5. ROKA Gen II Elite Aero Triathlon Shorts

ROKA Gen II Elite Aero Triathlon Shorts

Your triathlete probably spend a lot of time on the bike. Whether that is indoors on a trainer or out on the roads they are still sitting on that hard bike saddle for a long time.

Most traditional cycling shorts are filled with extreme padding that can feed uncomfortable, especially in the aero position. This is where ROKA comes in.

I guarantee that the triathlete in your life knows about ROKA. The company is the leader is triathlon swim apparel but has fairly recently been making waves (pun intended) in all triathlon apparel.

Their triathlon shorts are easily the most comfortable triathlon shorts I’ve ever worn. Most triathletes race in a one-piece suit so I wouldn’t recommend racing in these per say. However, they will hold up for a long time so my preference is training in them.

You can literally swim, bike and run in these shorts for months without any impact. They last a lot longer than those expensive pair of running shoes and will get more use!

PRICE: $125

6. goodr OG Sunglasses

goodr OG Sunglasses

These shades were designed for runners. All the fashion with none of the problems of traditional sunglasses while running.

No slip. No bounce. Polarized. Awesome designs. For only $25.

That’s all I need to say about that.

PRICE: $25

7. Tracer360

If the triathlete in your every trains outside while its dark out this one is a must have. The Tracer360 is the Ferrari of safety lights.

It has 6 different light colors and 5 different modes. Its hard for a driver to miss someone who has a multicolored rave happening on their body at 5am.

My favorite part about the Tracer 360 is just how comfortable it is. If it wasn’t so bright I wouldn’t even know I was wearing it. It is that comfortable.

PRICE: $49.95

8. XLAB Hydroblade

XLAB Hydroblade

Obviously hydration and nutrition is important in triathlons. The water bottle provides most of a triathletes hydration and nutrition while on the bike.

The problem is most water bottle holders and water bottles are round and not very aerodynamic. It is also a huge pain to pick one up while riding in the aero position.

This is where XLAB’s Hydroblade comes in. The perfectly designed bottle attaches to your triathlete’s aerobars on the bike. That way all they have to do is lean down and drink.

PRICE: $54.95

9. Fabric Chamber Ratchet Multi-Tool

Fabric Chamber Ratchet

This multi-tool by Fabric is my favorite without question. It is so sleek and clean but more importantly it is effective. Nothing works quite as well as this tool. Unlike most bike multi-tools that are one directional this one is a ratcheting tool. Which means you don’t have to keep taking the tool out and placing it back in the item you are looking to tighten or loosen.

It includes 13 ratchet heads to handle nearly every task you throw at it. Another great feature that is often overlooked in this tool is how there are no sharp edges. That means you can slip it into your cycling jersey without running the risk of ripping anything.

PRICE: $39.99

10. TimTam Power Massager

TimTam Power Massager

For those triathletes that literally have everything this may be the one thing they don’t have. Resembling a power-tool more than a massager, this device is all the rage in the triathlon community.

This power massager delivers 2,000 hits a minute which helps break down knots, increase bloodflow and release stored lactic acid. Imagine a lacrosse ball pushing hard against your muscle 2000 times a minute. That’s essentially what happens.

It may seem like a gimmick but I can assure you there is no better massage/recovery tool out there in my opinion. There are also a lot more expensive ones out there but this one is the best for the best price I think.

PRICE: $229.99
